“The eyes are the window to the soul”, ccording to an old aphorism.   The inspiration for this series of photos is a parallel  axiom: the hands (at work) are the window to the mind.  In this body of work we  are invited to contemplate how hands mediate the realms of thought, plans, and inspiration with physical reality for workers as diverse as dentists, carpenters, biology researchers, musicians, and others.   I like to think of these images as frozen
moments from a temporal dance in which human bodies encounter and shape the world of tools and raw materials.
